    I am not interested in an on-line investment course. If I want to learn about investment strategies, I want to be in a small group where I can ask questions directly of the presenter and other members. I also do not have the time.

    We got busy and then would forget. I still plan to do this but now we are busy farming so it will be awhile.
    I do not currently own a farm, but hope to inherit the family farm in the future. It is hard to motivate myself to do any more than dabble with farm planning.

    I was able to get through the course but had to fight to get through it. It wasn't workng the best. Went through the parts that I could get through.
    Called for help but didn't get back to me to solve my proble so I could get the pilot test to work for me the right way.
    One or two weblinks in the last unit wouldn't work.

    • This was a comprehensive course. There were details for every level of money management and investments.
    The course was very easy to navigate thru. I think someone taking this a their 1st online course would do fine with it. It was easy to re-start a chapter, if you had to leave part way thru.
    Very well organized. I would say it was about equal to. Only difference is that there was no instructor leading the course and the quiz score didn't counf towawrds a grade.

  • What would enhance the course?
    • It was fine
    Having to do 14 exercises before lesson 1 was a bit intimidating.
    I thought it was a good course.
    Have better tech help so if someone has a problem that they can get it solved so they can get through the course the way it was intented to.
    Continue with the links for additional information on topics. Many of the sites provided downloadable documents and examples to use long after the course has been completed.
    I am an older investor with some experience with savings, investments & retirement accts. I felt that the units on stocks & bonds were intimidating. I wonder if a person, new to investing, might not get scared off by all the choices. If they make it thru those units, the next one on mutual funds will make them relax & realize that they can invest & not have to do so much on their own. Maybe it would be better to put the mutual fund unit 1st & then lead into doing your own individual stock & bond investins. I guess that is how my husband & I started our savings plan & have only gotten into individual bonds & stocks as our savings have increased.
    Is there a way insurance companies/banks etc. would give some sort of incentive for completing and passing the course?

  • What additional content would you like to see developed in the future?
    • A course related to the markets
    Transfering the farm to your children and more on retirement.
    It may be helpful to have a section on credit card, personal information, and identity theft. Areas included may be ways of protection, scams to watch for and also options for recovery.
    I think a course on insurance would be very good. The different types of life insurance can be confusing. Also the options with health savings accts & long term care & disability insurance can be over whelming.
    More in depth about insurance and risk management. Case studies.

    • it took a couple more steps than the first directions, after several attempts I got it figured out
    It took a few longer than expected to receive confirmation. Placing a call and that afternoon I received confirmation.
    At first I could not get into the course but after a few days - had no trouble and could return as needed

    • I think so, had problems with the course not working right.
    It would have been helpful to have the lessons completed shaded or noted as completed. Also maybe a scale bar under the lesson to show what slide you left off on, in case it was necessary to level the session in the middle of a unit.
    The course was very easy to enter & exit. You could go back & re-read an area if you missed something or had questions.

    • I had a hard time navigation for this course.
    Some of the excerises were very indepth and I did not get a chance to complete them since we were limited to 10 days to complete and evaluate this cource. Spread out one unit every week would make it more realistic to complete the exercises.
    To be honest, we're running a little short on time these days, otherwise I would have done more courses, and I may yet if possible. We are dairy farmers, and planting season has arrived and first crop is coming off, so it was kind of bad timing for us. Most of the planning and investing we already have done in our situation, but it was nice to see all the links that I really haven't had time to look for on the internet.

    Good experience.
    The course was really interesting and would of enjoyed it more if it was working for me.
    I took Annie's project course in Grand Forks, North Dakota
    My older son has just quit his job & moved back to transition into taking over the family farm & would highly recommend this course to him. I think he would learn alot about the importance of saving for his future.
